As we know, planning for an event can be time consuming and frustrating, in order to help, we have compiled a list of our frequently asked questions and answers

What is included in the Room Hire Charges?

The area you book would be exclusive for your event. It also includes tables as required, with linen cloths. Screens are included in room hire. Flip charts can be requested at a rate of £10.00 per flip chart

How do I make a booking?

In order to make a booking, you must contact the Racquet Club and state in writing that you would like to confirm the booking. This can be done via email or letter.

Deposits are required for all bookings.

When are final numbers for catering required?

This is usually required 7 days prior to the event or meeting

When do you need to know the food that’s required?

We usually like this at least 7 days prior to the event or meeting.

Can I have organise my own entertainment for my function/event?

Feel free to organise your own entertainment for your event. We would suggest firms we have had in the past.

If there is music, what time do we have to finish?

The policy with music/entertainment in the hotel is; It is to finish at 1.00am if you have all the bedrooms booked or 12.00 if you don’t have the rooms booked.

Can my event have a bar?

This all depends on which function room you have booked,  If you have booked a room which does not have a bar, we could set up a bottled beer bar and wine bar in the room.

What time will the bar close?

The policy with regards to the bar timings are that it will close at 1.00am if you have all the bedrooms booked or 12.00 if you don’t have the rooms booked.

What is the maximum for capacity for the total function floor?

250 pax

How many people can you fit on a round table?

We usually suggest 8 – 10 per table; we also have a two larger round tables that can accommodate 12.

Terms & Conditions

Booking & Cancellation Policy – Conference, Meetings & Events

Provisional bookings are held for 48 hours. Written confirmation and deposit is required for all bookings. On paying a deposit you therefore agree to the following terms and conditions.

In the unfortunate circumstances that you have to cancel or postpone your booking we reserve the right to charge the following cancellation charges;

Room Hire is charged at 100% if the booking is not cancelled in writing 28 days prior to the event. For small events (numbers of 30 or less) full catering is charged if cancelled less than 28 days prior to the event. For large events (numbers of 30 plus) full catering is charged if cancelled less than 3 months prior to the event.

All cancellations need to be in writing and all deposits taken are non refundable.
